Yeah, we said it. MONOLOGUE!
A monologue is a long speech given by an actor in a play or film. Many theatres require them in auditions so it’s a great idea to always have one in your back pocket!
Selecting the right monologue that is age appropriate, fits your personality, and shows off your acting abilities in one minute is no easy task. Having guidance from an expert to help you select and fine tune your monologue can take your audition and acting technique to a whole new level! Lucky for you PCA has that expert, and she is offering an intimate workshop for a small group of actors.
Many of you know of the wonder that is Kat Bailes, if you don’t, one look at her bio will show you she is the real deal. We are so excited for her to pass on her wisdom and passion to any smart enough to snag their spot in her class!
Kat is so happy to be teaching at PCA! An Arizona native and graduate of ASU and AMDA in New York, Kat regularly works as an actor, dancer, director, and choreographer at theaters all around the Valley.
Some favorite productions include Ella Enchanted (Childsplay), The Wild Party (A/C Theatre), Bye Bye Birdie (Desert Foothills Theater), A Chorus Line (Theater Works), Shrek (Desert Foothills Theater), Hands on a Hardbody (Arizona Broadway Theatre), Bullets Over Broadway (Phoenix Theatre), Pippin (Phoenix Theatre), Church Basement Ladies (ABT), Fiddler on the Roof (ABT), Lucky Stiff (ABT), and Sweet Charity (ABT). Besides ASU and AMDA, Kat has also studied dance and acting at Michael Howard Studios, Larry Singer Studios, Scottsdale Community College, Broadway Dance Center, and UC Irvine.
