Director of Programming / Producer

Producer
The Director of Programming / Producer manages and oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of PYT’s ongoing arts education programs, including managing the budget, planning, programming, staffing, and managing musical theater productions and classes.

Reports to the Executive Director and the Patron Leadership Council.

Patron Stewardship Manager

Patron Stewardship Manager
The Patron Stewardship Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing meaningful activities that increase, diversify, and sustain philanthropic support for Phoenix Youth Theatre in the form of sponsorships from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Position is part-time. Hours to be determined. Reports to the Executive Director.

PR and Marketing Representative

PR and Marketing
The PR and Marketing Representative develops and organizes marketing activities to increase awareness, cultivate interest, and improve upon the brand’s remarkable reputation; develops a public relations strategy complete with goals, budget and reporting; and creates, edits, and updates promotional material such as emails, flyers, and social media content in text, video, and image formats.

Position is part-time. Hours to be determined. Reports to the Director of Programming.

Front Desk Staff / Facilities Manager

Front Desk / Facilties
The Front Desk Staff / Facilities Manager is a forward-facing position that sets a positive atmosphere and greets students and family members. Responsibilities may also include overseeing, sorting, and distributing incoming mail, managing and maintaining office and cleaning supplies, and monitoring staff schedules.

Position is part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Reports to the Director of Programming.



Show Team

Musical Director

Musical Director
The Musical Director is responsible for all the musical elements of a production in alignment with the Artistic Director’s vision, leading the actors through rehearsals and in performance. The Musical Director attends creative team meetings to develop the overall vision of the show, studies scripts and music, attends auditions, leads regular warm-ups, and teaches music and harmonies to the cast.

Position is part-time, Mondays, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Production Stage Manager

Production Stage Manager
The Production Stage Manager ensures the success of a theater show, including knowing the stage layout, understanding the set, organization of the production team, and keeps actors and staff on track and on time. The production stage managers are the director's representative during performances, making sure that the production runs smoothly. Coordinates with the Rehearsal Stage Manager.

Position is part-time. Responsibilities begin in February 2023 through the production in late April 2023. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Rehearsal Stage Manager(s)

Rehearsal Stage Manager
Rehearsal Stage Manager(s) provides practical and organizational support to the director, actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process; takes notes on blocking during rehearsals; organizes lighting and sound cues; and keeps actors on track during rehearsals. Coordinates with the Production Stage Manager.

Position is part-time. Mondays, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Junior Stage Manager(s)

Junior Stage Manager
Junior Stage Manager (s) provides practical and organizational support to the director, actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process; takes notes on blocking during rehearsals; organizes lighting and sound cues; and keeps actors on track during rehearsals. Coordinates with the Production Stage Manager.

Position is part-time. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:00 to 8:45 p.m. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Sound Designer

Sound Designer
The Sound Designer contributes to the show's content and aesthetic, by creating sound effects, textures, atmospherics, and ambience that enhance the show's storyline and support the Artistic Director’s vision. The sound designer will program Qlab and edit audio tracks as necessary. The Sound Designer will manage the sound system provided or rented (approved by Producer) and ensure it will give the audience the best experience come showtime.

The Sound Designer will attend production meetings, designer runs, technical rehearsals, and dress rehearsals as required and provide all cues, direction, and equipment necessary for a smooth handoff to the sound operative.

Position is part-time. Reports to the Director of Programming.

Choreographers

Choreographers
The Choreographer’s responsibilities range from providing high-quality dance lessons for children in a range of styles to assisting show teams by creating original dance movements and routines for performances and productions.

Position is part-time, Mondays, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Piano Teacher for Accompaniment and Lessons

Piano - Show
The Piano Teacher’s responsibilities range from providing high-quality piano lessons for students to assisting voice teachers and show teams with accompaniment as required.

Position is part-time. This is a new program, and hours are dependent on enrollment. Reports to the Phoenix Voice Academy Director.



Classes and Lessons

Musical Theatre Dance Instructor

Musical Theatre Dance Instructor
Musical Theatre Dance Instructor teaches musical theater dance classes to students ages 8-17 with a focus on characterization, dance movement, vocalization, and musical theater styles. Must be able to create and implement a structured dance class, teach proper dance and performance technique in a positive, safe way, and help students learn how to express themselves through dance. PYT is committed to building curriculum around the strengths of our instructors’ experience.

Position is part-time. Seven hours of classes available per week, dependent on enrollment and scheduling. Reports to the Director of Programming.

Musical Theatre Acting and Improv Instructor

Musical Theatre Acting and Improv Instructor
Musical Theatre Acting and Improv Instructor will teach improv-based drama curriculum and acting on camera vs stage to students ages 8-17. Must be able to create and implement a structured drama class, teach proper improv and performance technique in a positive, safe way, and help students learn how to express themselves through acting and improv. PYT is committed to building curriculum around the strengths of our instructors’ experience.

Position is part-time. Twelve hours of classes available per week, dependent on enrollment and scheduling. Reports to the Director of Programming.

PVA Singing Teacher/Voice Coach

PVA Vocal Coach/Instructor
The Singing Teacher/Voice Coach will teach one-to-one lessons to the high standards Phoenix Voice Academy is known for. The Singing Teacher/Voice Coach is dynamic, inspiring, and passionate about voice, music creation, and the development of young singers.

Full training is provided, but experience in singing and/or singing teaching is fundamental. Knowledge of vocal anatomy, acoustics, youth and performance psychology, and performance techniques are valuable. Would suit a college graduate or singer/teacher who is looking for the fulfillment that only comes from watching young people thrive.

Position is part-time. Reports to Phoenix Voice Academy Director.

Piano Teacher for Accompaniment and Lessons

The Piano Teacher’s responsibilities range from providing high-quality piano lessons for students to assisting voice teachers and show teams with accompaniment as required.

Position is part-time. This is a new program, and hours are dependent on enrollment. Reports to the Phoenix Voice Academy Director.
